The Infineon IR2085STRPBF is an application field and working principle, a part of PMIC – Gate Drivers. It is a low voltage shielded isolated gate driver, specially designed for Isolated DC-DC Topologies and Solar applications. It has very low output offset, low propagation delay times, and low threshold tones. IR2085STRPBF also features self-generated pulses with adjustable pulse high time, adjustable pulse low time, adjustable dead time, and adjustable delay time.The working principle of this unit was designed to suit in isolated DC-DC topologies and solar applications. It has a very low output offset and low propagation delay times, which makes it suitable for small switching frequencies. This is achieved by using a high-speed, bidirectional IGBT gate driver IC and by having integrated protection features that enable the device to shutdown, during overload conditions. The device also has a low threshold voltage, which helps in reducing the power losses due to the lower gate leakage current.The PMIC – Gate Drivers can also be used for high-speed gate drives in applications that require two, three or four-times switching. The gate driver ICs are also capable of driving high switching frequencies. The IR2085STRPBF has a wide operating temperature range and can handle peak currents up to 8A and voltages up to 600V. The low offset and low propagation delay times are beneficial for high frequency applications, as the offset and propagation delay reduces. In addition to high-speed gate driving, the IR2085STRPBF features a number of integrated features that enable it to perform as a single-channel, dual-channel, or as an adjustable frequency controller. When configured as a single-channel or dual-channel controller, the device can be used with any voltage level, as long as the maximum peak current rating of the device is not exceeded. When configured as adjustable frequency controller, the device can be used to regulate or adjust the frequency or duty cycle of a switching signal, in response to an external stimulus.The IR2085STRPBF also features integrated temperature and voltage protection, which enables the device to shut down in order to prevent damage due to high temperatures or voltages. The device also contains an integrated EMC filter, which allows it to operate in noisy environments and can also be used for IGBT turn-off noise reduction.In conclusion, Infineon\'s IR2085STRPBF application field and working principle can be used for a wide range of applications, from gate driving to IGBT turn-off noise reduction, and from adjustable frequency controllers to temperature and voltage protection.
