PMIC - Hot Swap Controllers
The ISL6115AIBZ-T is a positive overvoltage, overtemperature and high-current monitoring and protection integrated circuit, also known as a hot swap controller, a type of power management device used primarily in computing and data processing applications. It is a combination of a high-side current monitor, an adjustable resistor and a low-side field-effect transistor (FET) switch on one chip. The FET acts as a switch that can be used to regulate the flow of high-voltage current into a digital load. The resistor allows the switch to be adjusted as the amount of current needed by the digital load changes over time. The monitor is used to detect any excessive current, which then triggers a signal to the switch to open and protect the digital load.
The ISL6115AIBZ-T has a pile of features that make it suitable in a wide variety of applications.
