Working Principle

The ISL61853GCRZ-T operates with a regulated buck converter. The buck converter is a DC to DC converter which reduces voltage from the input voltage level, then output is controlled with pulse-width modulation (PWM). The IC comprises of all elements required for operating the converter and contains various protection features for fault tolerance. When input voltage and current are within the specified range, the controller regulates the operation of the buck converter and passes the power to theapplication. The maximum output of the connected converter determines the current limit threshold in the IC.

When the input lies outside the safe voltage range, a fault signal is generated and the converter is disabled.
