It is part of the Intersil Primary-Side Controller series, which is suitable for the control of high density and performance power supply units (PSUs).The ISL88731CHRTZ-T is an ultra-low power, compact integrated circuit that enables high-efficiency, high-voltage synchronous power conversion with ease, while also providing programmable protection features and a range of fault protection modes such as primary voltage, primary current, short circuit, open loop, power MOSFET pins to the control, reverse current and temperature management. Additionally, it allows for the integration of secondary side components such as LEDs, enabling cost-effective and space-saving design for PSU manufacturers.The ISL88731CHRTZ-T is primarily designed for offline, low-power applications and can be used for flyback, forward primary-side controllers for low-power applications. It employs a high-frequency pulse modulated control technique and a multiphase interleaved buck regulator to achieve high efficiency over wide load ranges. The primary-side controllers provide comprehensive control of the power conversion process with cycle-by-cycle current mode control and adaptive frequency control based on multiple current-sensing parameters, enhancing system performance in the presence of load transients, power disturbances, and line variations.The main application field for the ISL88731CHRTZ-T is in battery chargers.
