KSZ8842-16MBLI-TR is a low-power, single-chip Media Independent Interface (MII) with an integrated Ethernet PHY. It is a single-port, five-pin 10/100TX Ethernet physical layer (PHY) transceiver. It integrates transmit and receive features including physical coding sublayer, scrambler, descrambler, and full-duplex Media Access Control (MAC) into a single chip. It is designed for integration with digital signal processors (DSP) and microcontrollers.The KSZ8842-16MBLI-TR is designed to interface with MII compliant devices and support full digital IEEE 802.3 media access control (MAC). The device supports three different modes that enables it to be used in various applications. The MII and MDIO are compliant with ANSI X3.263/3.681 physical coding standard. The device supports both 10/100 Mbps full-duplex data transfer rate and half-duplex in both 10 and 100 Mbps.The transceiver contains the integrated Ethernet physical layer in a single device. The device has a 300-Mbps interface that supports both the media independent interface (MII) and the Media Dependent Interface (MDIO) which makes it compatible with a wide variety of Ethernet controllers. It supports both 10 & 100 Mbps full-duplex data transfer rate and half-duplex in both 10 and 100 Mbps. The transceiver also supports low power modes that enable power saving during data transfer.The KSZ8842-16MBLI-TR is used in a wide variety of applications including industrial automation, security, musical instruments, medical diagnostic equipment, robotics, safety systems, home entertainment systems, set-top boxes and gaming consoles.
