The LAN8720A-CP is a fully integrated 10/100 fast Ethernet physical layer transceiver and media access controller, fully compliant with IEEE 802.3u and 802.3ab standards for 100BASE-T and 1000BASE-T applications. It provides complete turn-key integrated Ethernet designs with an SPI control port.
The transceivers have a frequency of 25MHz, which allows them to be used in almost any Ethernet LAN or WAN application. The LAN8720A-CP supports both full and half duplex operation as well as auto-negotiation of data rates and duplex. The integrated physical layer unit supports four ports - MDI, MII, SMSC, and QSGMII - enabling the LAN8720A-CP to be used in a wide range of applications. The LAN8720A-CP is also compatible with various PHY and media access controllers, making it suitable for a multitude of different applications.
