The LM25118EVAL/NOPB Evaluation Board is a DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) switching power supply (SMPS) voltage regulator designed for a wide range of applications. It provides a low-cost, reliable, and efficient solution to power requirements ranging from a few milliamps up to several watts. The Evaluation Board is designed to be used with the LM25118, an adjustable 3-phase, synchronous buck voltage regulator that can be switched from an input voltage range of 8 V to 17 V, down to a continuous regulated output voltage (Vout) of 0.8 V to 7.4 V. The LM25118 uses an integrated gate driver, which is set up with a pre-programmed drive voltage and current limit values. The Evaluation Board\'s power output is protected against reverse flow and any output overload, allowing it to be used with high-current applications with low startups.

The LM25118EVAL/NOPB Evaluation Board consists of three main components; the three-phase buck regulator, the controllers, and the power subsystem. To use the Evaluation Board, you must attach a "sensing" element between the input and output to provide current/voltage feedback, allowing the system to derive the desired output voltage (Vout). This sensing element is hooked up to an ADC which provides the necessary feedback to the control system and can be modulated as needed. The control system then sends the control signals to the three-phase buck converter in order to adjust the duty cycle of each phase in order to reach the desired output voltage.

The LM25118EVAL/NOPB Evaluation Board also includes a power-on-reset circuit, designed to power up the system in a safe state. This onboard circuit monitors the system\'s input voltage and restarts the system if it ever falls too low. The LM25118EVAL/NOPB is also protected against any unexpected short circuit conditions on the output. If an output voltage overload is detected, the system will automatically reset to protect itself from any potential damage.
