The LM2595T-3.3 is a monolithic integrated high-efficiency 3.3V, 1A step-down switching regulator from Texas Instruments. This device has all the features necessary to construct a DC-DC switching regulator, and is ideal for use in point-of-load, portable equipment and distributed power systems for the cost-effective delivery of power. With this device, an adjustable output voltage of up to 3.3V can be achieved, and the maximum output current of 1A is suitable for many applications. The LM2595T-3.3 has two operating modes: the pulse width modulation (PWM) mode and the Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM) mode. When the load voltage is lower than the output voltage or when the output voltage is close to the regulation voltage, the device will automatically switch to PFM mode. This is to achieve optimal efficiency of the device and maintain a stable output voltage.
The LM2595T-3.3 has several built-in features including short-circuit protection, over-temperature protection, under-voltage lockout and over-voltage protection. These features provide system protection and increase the reliability of the power supply design. In addition, it provides a shutdown pin that can be used to turn off the output voltage.
