If the sensed switch current reaches the programmed current limit threshold, the controller sets an internal latch, which holds off the following switching cycle until the load current falls below the current sense threshold. On the next switching cycle, the duty cycle will be reduced in order to prevent any further overcurrent conditions.External compensation components are not required, as the LM2597HVM-12 incorporates an internally compensated error amplifier. The output voltage can be adjusted by connecting an external resistor divider between the output and the FB pin. If necessary, the user can add an optional capacitor across the FB feed-back pin of the LM2597HVM-12 to improve transient response or reduce noise.
