Working Principle
LM2903ITLX/NOPB is a dual single-supply voltage comparator and it compares two input signals with a reference signal. This device features differential inputs, single-ended input, power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) and operational amplifier (op-amp) output. The voltage reference is adjustable between 0V to 5V, and the input of the comparator can go up to 6V. This makes the LM2903ITLX/NOPB a voltage-over-voltage detector.The basic configuration of the LM2903ITLX/NOPB consists of two inverted inputs, two non-inverted inputs, an output and a voltage reference. The input of the comparator is applied to the two non-inverted inputs and one stable reference voltage is applied to the inverted inputs. Whenever the input of the comparator exceeds the reference voltage, the output will switch either to high or low. The switching between the high and low depends on the polarity of the inputs.The LM2903ITLX/NOPB has a common-mode input range from -1.6V to 4V. It also has some desired features like high accuracy, low offset voltage, high bandwidth and low power dissipation. The output of this comparator is compatible with various digital logic families including TTL and CMOS.The interface between the LM2903ITLX/NOPB and the digital circuitry is established through the use of digital output buffers. These buffers act as a switching device to drive the digital logic whenever the LM2903ITLX/NOPB detects a voltage difference.
