LM5015NISOEVAL is a flexible, powerful Control Board Evaluation Kit (CB-EK) for evaluating power conversion applications and features. The LM5015NISOEVAL provides designers with an easy to use and cost-effective means of validating power settings, ensuring continual operation, evaluating current limit and evaluation of related output characteristics related to their specific power conversion applications. The versatile design of the Eval Kit enables quick evaluation, design optimization and application testing.
LM5015NISOEVAL is especially suited for evaluation of DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply) applications. The Eval Kit is provided with an inverted component module in the kit which allows for easy evaluation of a range of applications to include applications such as LED lighting, solar modules and automotive power modules. The kit also includes a graphical user interface (GUI), which simplifies the setup and evaluation of the application.
The LM5015 ranges from narrow to wide input voltage range applications with the most widely used application being the DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS application. This application has defined operating parameters which are necessary to evaluate and optimize the SMPS that is being used. This eval kit provides a cost effective and convenient method for SMPS evaluation. The LM5015NISOEVAL operates on a basic concept of monitoring current, voltage, power, temperature and other parameters. With the help of the in-line module the eval kit helps the user modify the circuit from a menu driven interface to a complete off-line SMPS.
The LM5015NISOEVAL provides the flexibility necessary to fully evaluate all the current, voltage, power, temperature and related characteristics. The Eval Kit is extremely versatile and can perform a variety of applications. The Eval Kit provides a user friendly and cost effective means of evaluating a wide variety of applications using a non-strict methodology. For instance, a user can evaluate the performance of the converter while operating under conditions of varying load and temperature.
The LM5015NISOEVAL is designed to support components used in a variety of conventional, buck, boost, flyback, and AC/DC applications. It provides support for a wide range of DC-DC converter output voltages and currents up to 60A. Furthermore, the Eval Kit supports both open loop and closed loop feedback control systems commonly used in many power converter designs.
The LM5015NISOEVAL features a graphical user interface (GUI) which allows for easy feed forward setup and evaluation. The eval kit also comes with a self-diagnostic system and a comprehensive component-level database which allows for best practice designs for a range of applications. The GUI is designed to make setting up and testing easy and straightforward. The GUI also allows users to adjust the settings and load parameters with minimal effort. The user can also set up a range of parameters that can be monitored and analyzed in line with the operating range and temperature.
As a versatile kit, the LM5015NISOEVAL comes with an on board test system to test the device using a range of parameters. The test system includes a parameter testing module for measuring the output voltage, master output current and master output voltage to determine the overall profile of the device. Furthermore, the on board test system features a variety of power stage tests, which are used to evaluate a wide range of parameters, such as power stage stability and transient response.
