It works in two modes - voltage-mode and current-mode.The voltage-mode operation allows the system to detect an over-voltage situation according to the input supply voltage, and current-mode operation allows the system to detect an over-current situation according to the load current. Once an over-voltage situation or over-current situation is detected, the LM5068MM-1 will shut off the input power by switching it to the off-state.
The LM5068MM-1 also allows the user to adjust the Over-Temperature Protection (OTP) threshold across a wide range of temperature ranges. This will ensure that the system protection circuit is actively engaged if the temperature exceeds a preset threshold. In addition, the LM5068MM-1 is optimized to reduce the overall system power consumption by lowering the quiescent current while still providing excellent system performance.
