The LM5041EVAL is an off-line evaluation board that provides customers with an easy and convenient way to evaluate the LM5041 buck regulator from Texas Instruments. It offers a 3-phase input voltage range of 25 to 75VAC, so customers can quickly simulate actual system operation. The evaluation board is accompanied by an Evaluation GUI software tool, which allows users to quickly set up and configure the board\'s loads, inputs and outputs. Application Field

The LM5041EVAL board is designed as a 3-phase, switch-mode power supply (SMPS) regulator for offline, transient-term power conversion applications. It can support a wide range of input and output voltages and provides current and temperature sensing through its monitoring pins. Working Principle

The LM5041EVAL works with the TI LM5041B buck regulator, which consists of two main sections, a phase lock loop (PLL) section and a buck section. The PLL section is used to control the switch on time of the buck section. It senses the voltage across an inductor, which is proportional to the output current. This voltage is compared with a voltage reference and the difference is used to generate a control signal for the buck section. The buck section works as a current source to achieve a regulated output voltage by switching on and off.
