LNK584GG is an application-specific advanced power integrated circuit package that provides efficient power conversion with a wide range of output voltages (2-24V). It can be applied in a variety of power supply and power management applications.The LNK584GG engages in AC-DC power conversion and can work with different input sources such as mains, battery, automotive, PoE, and USB ports. It is designed for working with transformerless DC/DC switching buck or boost converters. It can also be used in offline switchers to meet the needs of power factor correction (PFC) and light-load performance required for EN61000 standards.The LNK584GG features onboard secondary-side peak current-mode (SS-PCM) control with accurate current/voltage sensing feedback to regulate the desired output voltage. It uses a galvanic isolated high voltage switch and low-side linear regulation technology.It includes a wide output voltage range (2-24V) and uniquely integrates several built-in safety and protection features such as output overload, thermal shutdown, output voltage cross-regulation, and over temperature protection. These safety and protection features reduce the need for external components and provide a system level control that helps reduce cost and improve reliability of new designs.In addition, it is suitable for PFC operated in critical conduction mode (CRM) due to its high frequency operation and small form factor. It includes high power density, low power loss, and low EMI.To achieve the highest efficiency, the LNK584GG uses primary side regulation (PSR) technology that is designed for low power AC-DC converters with SS-PCM operating without the need for an opto-isolator for feedback.The LNK584GG features a reduced power consumption design with an outage recovery system. This allows the converter to recover from an overvoltage event without shutting down the system or being disconnected from the power source. It also features integrated adjustable sensing for SS-PCM and OVP for output voltage protection. The LNK584GG helps reduce standby power with an ultra low-saturation current of 15µA, lower operating voltage under directional control (DG), and automatic switching on/off with the power supply and enable pin. This helps ensure higher efficiency over a wide input range. The device also includes a unique, one-wire serial interface that facilitates communication with the host and/or applications.The combination of upper and lower voltage loop compensation, hysteresis loop, and precise voltage and current control provide high power performance at light loads even with a low switching frequency. The LNK584GG is designed for operation in continuous mode over a wide input voltage range and power factor of 0.3-1. It also features low EMI for improved radiated performance. With the advanced features, superior performance, and wide application range, the LNK584GG provides unprecedented levels of stability, reliability, compactness, and energy efficiency.
