The LNK6775E is a fully integrated offline switcher IC, optimized to minimize an application system’s power loss. It features an auto-restart function which eliminates the need for a rectifier diode used as an extremely low surge current protection when driving high capacitive loads. The LNK6775E is ideal for applications requiring low standby power and low cost, such as battery charging, desktop PC power converters and lighting.

The LNK6775E is a member of Power Integrations’ family of integrated power converters. This IP is designed to minimize the power dissipation of converters used in many consumer, industrial and communications applications. It offers a wide range of integrated devices, including high voltage/low voltage power switches, linear regulators, ultra-low noise linear regulators and high output current switches.

The main application field of LNK6775E is used in low power offline switcher topologies. It provides a low stand-by power with true-off mode. When the device is triggered by the ON-time pulse, the power switch is engaged. When the OFF-time pulse is generated, the power switch is disengaged and the current will flow to the output capacitor. The OFF-time is determined by the off-time compare voltage. The off-time can be programmed using the integrated LDO. The switch current is controlled by the peak current sense voltage and the peak current sense circuitry. The peak current sense voltage is adjustable and can be set to suit the application needs.
