Working Principle
The LNK6776V uses an input voltage signal from its internal voltage divider to make brightness and constant power/voltage control flexible. The starting process of this device starts with the zero-cross signal received by the opto coupler, and then the opto coupler signal is compared with the voltage signal of the internal voltage divider. The PWM signal is generated after the conversion of the opto coupler signal and the voltage signal of the internal voltage divider. After the PWM signal is generated, the signal is sent to the power MOSFET, which switches the power and drives the output. The output power is then conditioned in the auxiliary winding and the output transformer, after which it is sent to the load.
The LNK6776V device performs peak current control in order to minimize output voltage ripple and to minimize power loss in the power MOSFET. The current sense signal is compared to the peak current limit signal to control the on-time of the power MOSFET. Moreover, the device features a higher open loop gain through the current sense amplifier compared to conventional solutions.
The LNK6776V also implements a special dynamic voltage scaling feature that enables the output voltage to be dynamically adjusted based on the input voltage. This feature eliminates the need for an extra controller and associated components to enable a step-down configuration while still maintaining high efficiency.
Additionally, the device contains multiple protection features such as an instantaneous on-time limit, cycle-by-cycle over-current protection, automatic frequency jittering, and over temperature protection. These features provide robustness and reliability to give users the peace of mind that their system will operate properly and with minimal faults.
The LNK6776V is optimized to achieve higher efficiency, lower system cost and improved system reliability. This makes it an ideal choice for applications such as offline switchers, Isolated DC/DC converters and AC/DC converters.
