The voltage reference circuit is set at a nominal voltage of 5.5V, and the comparator compares the incoming voltage with the nominal reference voltage. The output voltage of the Hot Swap Controller is then regulated and the inrush current of the circuit is limited. This constant voltage and current regulation prevents equipment damage and failures due to over-voltage/current &/or under-voltage/current as well as proper device power up.
