The LT3437HFE#PBF can be configured to operate in either current mode or as an RMS-On-Average, also known as average current mode, controlling converter which uses a low side series n-channel FET for output current sensing; this FET is included on the LT3437HFE#PBF. The LT3437HFE#PBF also supports two types of pulse-frequency modulation architectures—constant off-time (COT) and fixed frequency (FF). Working Principle

The LT3437HFE#PBF is an advanced synchronous step-down DC-DC converter featuring a patented high-voltage control architecture which integrates the PWM controller and low-side current-sense MOSFET into a single monolithic IC. The control loop is responsible for enabling and disabling the output switch at the proper times, while also providing frequency foldback, foldback current limit, current mode, and average current mode regulation.

An external feedback signal sets the output voltage of the LT3437HFE#PBF. This signal is compared with the derived output voltage present at the Power Good pin, and the error voltage is then passed through the voltage loop compensation network.
