The LT8705MPFE#TRPBF is a monolithic step-down switching regulator that integrates a synchronous switching controller, drivers, MOSFETs, sense resistor and other power components. It provides all the functions necessary to implement a hysteretic or aBang-on DC/DC converter architecture with ease.The LT8705MPFE#TRPBF is capable of delivering up to 1A continuous current with excellent load and line regulation, and it comes with a micro-sized SOT-23-6 package which is suitable for space-restricted applications.

Working Principle:
The LT8705MPFE#TRPBF employs a hysteretic or Bang-on switching control scheme which permits lower power consumption, higher efficiency and smaller board layouts. Its operating frequency is easily adjustable with an external resistor, and its maximum switching frequency is set by an internal 330kHz Oscillator. The operating frequency can be set from 20kHz up to 330kHz, which allows the designer to optimize the power delivery and efficiency performance. The switching frequency can also be synchronized to an external clock signal, allowing for easy noise filtering and EMI reduction.
The LT8705MPFE#TRPBF includes a soft-start feature which reduces output voltage overshoot upon enabling and provides a safe startup for power hungry systems like those found in notebook computers. Additionally, the built-in loop compensation compensates for fluctuations on input voltage, temperature or load conditions. The LT8705MPFE#TRPBF features a low dropout internal controlled on-time (VCOM) architecture which minimizes the dropout voltage across the MOSFET switch.
