The LT8710EFE#TRPBF is an application-specific and integrated power management integrated circuit (PMIC) consisting of a dual-phase synchronous buck switching controller. It is primarily used for regulating input voltages and managing multiple power sources for different related devices. This type of PMIC voltage regulator can also be used for multiple midrange power applications including (but not limited to) FPGA and processor cores, networking and storage systems, and USB-C applications.The LT8710EFE#TRPBF is designed accordingly to improve the efficiency, size and cost of the power management architecture. This synchronous buck switching controller is capable of using different power sources and uses adaptive body diode emulation as a feature to further enhance the efficiency of the device. The controller also features a wide [0.8V-7V] Vin range, a 1.2 GHz bandwidth and can deliver up to 25 A in a single phase and up to 38 A for a split phase configuration. The LT8710EFE#TRPBF also includes integrated circuit protection functions such as over temperature protection, current limit protection, over voltage protection and reverse current protection.The LT8710EFE#TRPBF working principle has two main parts, the controller and the driver. The controller is responsible for regulating the input voltage and switching the output power. It uses adaptive body diode emulation to maximize the efficiency while maintaining fast transitions between high and low current levels. The controller also monitors the output voltage and current and can limit both when necessary. The driver is responsible for driving the external switches connected to the input and output sides of the power conversion circuit. It provides high current drive capability and various protection features such as thermal shutdown and over-current protection.The LT8710EFE#TRPBF is an efficient, cost-effective and small power management solution for applications such as high power FPGA, processor cores, networking and storage systems, and USB-C applications.
