MAX1082BCUE+ is an analog to digital converter (ADC) designed for data acquisition applications. It is a low-cost, single-channel, 10-bit ADC featuring an adjustable data rate from 0.1Hz to 10kHz and a simple SPI serial interface. The MAX1082BCUE+ includes a flexible on-board reference, temperature sensor, and power supply that enable the device to be used in both low- and high-voltage applications. It also features a number of configurable options including gain and offset adjustments, input protection, trigger logic, and power-saving modes. The MAX1082BCUE+ supports a wide range of input requirements, including analog input signals from float to ground, single-supply operation (at voltages up to 18V), and optically-coupled inputs.The MAX1082BCUE+ processes analog input signals, discriminates the input signals into 0.1-Volts increments, and digitizes them into 10-bit digital codes. The device has an internal 10-bit comparator that compares an input voltage to reference voltages, and then produces a 10-bit digital code based on the comparison. The device also has an on-board reference DAC and adjustable gain and offset controls which allow for fine tuning of the analog input level for optimum resolution. This DAC additionally allows for the device to be configured for low-voltage or high-voltage operation (up to 18V).The MAX1082BCUE+ includes an on-board temperature sensor which enables the device to self-calibrate when the ambient temperature changes. The Temp-Seek feature of the device continuously monitors the temperature and adjusts the comparator’s reference voltage accordingly. It also has a Sleep Mode feature which can be used to reduce power consumption when the device is not in use.The MAX1082BCUE+ supports a wide range of input signals, including single-supply inputs, split supply inputs, and optically-coupled inputs. It has an adjustable trigger logic which allows the user to set the sampling rate and open-drain outputs.
