The MAX1142BCAP+ is a Data Acquisition - Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) offering true 12-bit resolution. It converts analog signals into stepwise discrete digital signals for digital signal processing with minimal noise, low power consumption and small size. MAX1142BCAP+ is designed for industrial and medical applications, from process and factory automation to digital imaging and biomedical instrumentation, to monitor and measure small amplitude signals in an environment with small footprint.
The MAX1142BCAP+ includes a wide range of features, such as a low-noise charge-transfer-switching multiplexer with selectable input voltage range (2.5V and 3.3V) and input protection up to 40V. It has anIntegrated Safety and ARM processing support, High-gain Programmable-Gain Amplifier (PGA) and High Accuracy Programmable-Gain Resistor (RGA). It also offers low power dissipation mode, a wide operating range of -40°C to 85°C, and two power supply options.
In applications requiring precision measurement of low-level inputs, the MAX1142BCAP+ is capable of achieving high accuracy and excellent stability over a wide temperature variation.It also provides excellent thermal drift, stable reference voltage and low offset. Its selectable high and low input voltage protection features ensure there is no degradation due to external voltage transients.
The MAX1142BCAP+’s precise measurement of low-level signals is facilitated by its versatile implementation of the Modular-Arithmetic-Mode (MAM) architecture thatfeatures high accuracy, low noise and low offset. The MAM architecture also provides efficient, distortion-free conversion of analog signals with low-level noise immunity. This makes the MAX1142BCAP+ suitable for use in applications requiring high-accuracy solutions.
The MAX1142BCAP+ features an integrated, ARM-compatible programmable-gain amplifier (PGA) that enables precise gain control, simplifying input signal conditioning. This allows integration of multiple analog inputs into the system. The PGA provides the flexibility and accuracy that enable designers to optimize the desiredlevel of signal processing and accuracy.
The MAX1142BCAP+ enables fast data acquisition. It includes an equation engine and a user-programmable memory, which provides storage in the system of all relevantconfiguration settings and enables high-speed reconfigurations without system downtime.
