The internal architecture of the MAX1144AEAP+ consists of three main blocks – an analog input stage, a ΔΣ modulator and an output stage. The analog input stage consists of the input buffer, a variable gain amplifier and a 60Hz notch filter. The ΔΣ modulator block performs the analog to digital conversion and consists of a 1-bit ΔΣ modulator, digital filters and a clock generator. The output stage consists of a noise shaping filter and track-and-hold circuits for capturing the output data. The digital filter in the modulator block is programmable and can be configured to different sampling rates and oversampling ratios for improved resolution.
