The MAX11614EEE+ is a precision low-power, sixteen-channel, analog-to-digital (A/D) integrated circuit that is designed to provide accurate and reliable digital conversions of up to sixteen analog inputs. The ADC is a powered-down version of the MAX11613 analog-to-digital converter, designed to better handle the data acquisition and provide a simplified, ultra-low-power conversion solution for data acquisition applications. The MAX11614EEE+ is a single, low-power, multichannel device that can perform simultaneous conversions up to sixteen input channels.

The MAX11614EEE+ offers a range of features that enable it to provide accurate and reliable digital conversions of up to sixteen analog inputs. Its features include an on-chip oscillator, an on-chip reference, a low-power sleep mode, and low-noise operation. It also features high-resolution 12-bit conversions with a low-noise floor, low-power operation (1mW max), and excellent drift stability. In order to accurately and reliably convert analog input signals to digital signals, the MAX11614EEE+ utilizes a sampling and conversion pipeline architecutre. The conversion pipeline consists of four main stages: the track and hold, the sample and hold, the comparator and the digital converter. The track and hold captures the analog input signal so that it remains at a constant voltage. The sample and hold stages ensure the accuracy of this captured signal. The comparator compares the analog input with a reference voltage and produces a digital output signal. Finally, the digital converter converts the digital output signal into a meaningful, metric representation of the original analog signal.

The application of the MAX11614EEE+ covers a wide range of areas, such as automotive, industrial, communications and computing applications. The automotive application areas include antilock brake systems (ABS), engine ECU monitoring, and climate control systems.
