The MAX1271BENG+ is a specialized integrated circuit designed to provide data acquisition applications with accurate, high-resolution analog-to-digital (A/D) conversion capability. It is a 12-bit, single-channel A/D converter with a choice of two input ranges: 0 to +10V and -10V to +10V. This differential input range allows the converter to use a bipolar power supply. The MAX1271BENG+ is different from other A/D converters in that it is an integrated circuit (IC) with the A/D circuitry and the control logic integrated together. This eliminates the need for multiple components, such as resistors and capacitors, which must be integrated with external logic circuits to create a single A/D converter.
