The MAX1293ACEG+ is designed to process analog video signals with different characteristics like S-Video (Y/C), Composite Video, SDI (Serial Digital Interface) and Analog RGB. It consists of two main components: a low noise front end pixel sample/hold section and a high speed 12-bit successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The SAR ADC algorithm used by Max Integrated in the MAX1293ACEG+ guarantees low power operation and reduced conversion noise, while the low noise front end and wide signal input range ensure an excellent dynamic performance.

The MAX1293ACEG+ supports an input signal wide range of 0V to 1.8V and works with a single 3.3V supply voltage. It features an input sample and hold circuitry with a 1.2V threshold and 50pF of load capacitance. These features work together to reduce signal distortion on the input signal and to minimize noise and signal degradation at the conversion stage. Additionally, the output data format is 14-bit left-aligned with doubledimal format, with a maximum conversion rate of 150ksps.
