MAX14690JEWX+T is a variable power management and high power motor control application platform, which uses integrated motor control solution to overcome the limitation of available space to achieve advanced high-performance motor control. This application platform provides and supports several design needs, such as pre-charging, soft starting, field-oriented control and detection of shorts, overloads and over-temperature. When integrated with a host controller, it can provide an advanced solution for efficiency and flexibility.
Overview
The MAX14690JEWX+T is an integrated utility module with the field-oriented motor control (FOC) algorithm for three-phase motors. It includes low noise power MOSFET gate drivers and a complete set of protection features for short DC link, short motor phase, over-current and over-temperature operations. Also integrated are a digital core with 8-bit microcontroller, a 32-bit coprocessor and a range of power management circuitry, additional on-chip RAM and a SPI interface. With a maximum peak current of 8A, it is able to control high power three-phase motors. The motor drive voltage is programmable and can either be single-phase (±20V), or dual-phase (±10V). The three-phase motor control optimization and realization of MAX14690JEWX+T optimizes the process of current and voltage control.
