MAX16103V3113+ is a PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuit) supervisory device. It is designed to protect from a variety of over or under voltage/current events, and monitoring a system’s power supply voltage. Maximum protection is provided for consumer electronic devices, such as smartphones, tablets, netbooks, communications, consumer and industrial applications.

This PMIC supervisor monitors two supply rails, the main supply and a secondary supply. The main supply is the primary system power source, voltage ranging from 2.3V to 4.3V. The secondary supply is a backup supply, typically used in stand-by or sleep state, ranging from 1.8V to 4.3V.

The MAX16103V3113+ provides three reset outputs, RESET1#, RESET2#, and RESET3#. Each of these outputs has fail-safe timeout protection to prevent it from being held at an active state. This guarantees that an active/asserted line will revert to inactive/de-asserted after a specified time period has elapsed.

The MAX16103V3113+ alsoFeatures an independent, programmable, low voltage detector (LVD) designed to monitor a system\'s main supply rail. This allows the detection of a rapid decrease in the system\'s main supply voltage. An adjustable threshold voltage is programmed using the adjustment pin, VADJ. The voltage alert threshold can be programmed to any voltage between 1.2V and 4.3V. The MAX16103V3113+ also includes a watchdog timer (WDTIM) that resets the system whenever the main supply voltage is below the programmed threshold voltage for more than the programmed timeout interval.

The MAX16103V3113+ has a built-in power-on-reset (POR) generator. When the voltage on the main supply rail is below the POR reset threshold voltage (1.7V typical), the device will hold an active state asserting the RESET1# output for a fixed timeout cycle. The POR delay (tPOR) is adjustable to 30ms, 60ms, 120ms, or 250ms. This allows the user to adjust the timing of the POR circuit, dependent upon the overall system power supply requirements.

For maximum protection, the MAX16103V3113+ features integrated ESD protection and a reset pull-down circuit. The ESD protection prevents current surges due to electrostatic discharge (ESD) from damaging the device. The reset pull-down circuit prevents unintended RESET# assertions during power up due to RIS (Rapid Inrush Suppression). This keeps the supply rail within an acceptable voltage range during the rising edge of the voltage.

The MAX16103V3113+ also has a low power mode that can be used to conserve power when the system is idle. In this mode, the device will enter a power down state when all of the other components in the system are inactive. The device will operate in this state until an external interrupt is received, which will wake up the device and restore the system operation.

The MAX16103V3113+ monitors the system\'s main supply voltage and provides reset signals when the voltage drops below or remains below a certain threshold for a certain period of time. It also provides ESD protection and reset pull-down protection. This PMIC supervisor is designed for use in consumer electronic products, including smartphones, tablets, netbooks, communications, consumer and industrial applications.
