The MAX17499AEUB+ is a low-power DC-DC switching regulator controller from Maxim Integrated Products. It ensures up to 18V input regulation and up to 96% efficiency when step-down volts at 1.9V. It is ideal for voltage applications in the automotive, communications and industrial markets.

The MAX17499AEUB+ provides up to 6A and 98% efficiency over a wide range of input and load voltage combinations, while offering fixed output and adjustable output settings. Working principle

The MAX17499AEUB+ is a programmable DC-to-DC switching regulator controller, which controls and drives pulse modulated switches to regulate the output voltage. The control loop of the regulator adjusts the duty cycles of the pulse modulated switches in order to control the output voltage as efficiently as possible.

This device offers a wide range of features, including soft-start, fixed frequency operation, external clock synchronization, integrated power-on reset and programmable output voltage, to create optimal solutions for a variety of power applications. Additionally, the MAX17499AEUB+ can be controlled with I2C serial interfaces, aiding designers in quickly and easily setting up their system configuration.

To protect against current over desired level, a current-limiting function is designed into the MAX17499AEUB+. Adjustable over-current limit and an over-temperature limit are available. The on-chip comparator is enabled with one resistor, which is connected to the output voltage sense or sense capacitor.
