The MAX191BEWG+ is an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for data acquisition applications. It is a high performance integrated circuit ADC designed for low power, small size and low cost. The ADC is ideal for medical, industrial and automotive applications.This converter has a static performance of 16-bit effective resolution and up to 10MSPS (Mega-Samples-Per-Second) sample rate. Differential inputs and a low noise level provide accurate and reproducible conversion results.The MAX191BEWG+ is a delta-sigma ADC with a basic mode architecture, which uses two oversampling stages to reduce noise on the input signal. In its first stage, the delta-sigma modulator performs a noisy analog-to-digital conversion. In its second stage, the second-order digital filter reduces the noise and improves the signal-to-noise ratio.The MAX191BEWG+ is driven by an integrated oscillator, which provides a very low reference clock frequency of 21kHz. This low clock frequency helps reduce power consumption.The SAMPLE pin lets the user select one of two sample rates. When it is pulled high, the sample rate is doubled and the CODE output is updated twice as fast. This option can be used to increase the speed of data acquisition, making it more suitable for high-speed applications.The MAX191BEWG+ has temperature dependent DNL (Differential Non-Linearities) and offset errors, making it suitable for industrial applications. The device also has a selectable power-down option, which reduces the power consumption enabling lower overall system power costs.Overall, the MAX191BEWG+ is an excellent choice for data acquisition applications requiring high precision, low power and low cost solutions.
