MAX3087ECPA+ Application Field and Working Principle
The MAX3087ECPA+ is a ultra-low power, 8-bit, single-channel receiver. It is designed to receive 1000BASE-T and 10BASE-T Ethernet data (including SGMII and TBI/RTBI modes) and provides a low-power solution for multi-port Ethernet applications used in frequency-modulated differential signaling environments. It is part of the MAX family of receivers, drivers and transceivers for Ethernet communication.
The MAX3087ECPA+ is available in the industry-standard 8-pin MSOP package. It supports 1000Mbps, 10Mbps and SGMII speed modes, providing a low-power solution for multi-port Ethernet applications. It is compliant with the IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-T and 10BASE-T standards for differential physical encoding and auto-negotiation. The MAX3087ECPA+ also features a built-in clock-and-data recovery (CDR) circuit to accurately recover the data in the presence of skew, line noise and jitter. The device can operate in either polling or auto-negotiation modes, and also provides a range of programmable link search times, detection/release thresholds and pulse/transition generation parameters.
In addition to the basic functions, the MAX3087ECPA+ also supports several advanced features such as IP, WOL and LLDP priority queuing and other quality of service features. In addition, an on-chip media access control (MAC) interface provides a flexible and easy to use interface to the host device. The device is also compatible with 802.1Q VLAN tagging and 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE).
To ensure reliable communication and low power consumption, the MAX3087ECPA+ utilizes a 3.3V DC bias option, enabling direct interface to a system\'s 3.3V power supply.
