MAX3088ECSA+ is an advanced universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) with an integrated +2.85V to +3.6V, low-dropout (LDO) for operating the UART core and an additional +2.85V to +3.6V LDO for the RS-232 transmitter outputs. It is designed in compliance with multiple industry standards and is easy to use. Its integrated +2.85V to +3.6V LDOs have very tight output voltage accuracy over temperature. The MAX3088ECSA+ is used in many applications such as personal computers, industrial controllers, and media and communication hotspots.
The MAX3088ECSA+ supports a wide range of data rates from 600 bits/sec to 128K bits/sec, within a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. It operates at a supply voltage of +3.3V and draws a low current of only 470µA. The device can also be used in DMA and Auto-Flow-Control environments. It is a very cost effective choice for multiple asynchronous applications.
The MAX3088ECSA+ is available in two-wire and four-wire modes, that is, a bi-directional asynchronous data protocol and full-duplex synchronous/asynchronous data protocols. It is based on a multiple time slot architecture that provides enhanced performance, low power consumption and support for very low baud rate operation.
