The MAX3232IPWE4 is an integrated low-power, half-duplex transceiver used for serial communications over RS-232 protocol. It combines a dual line receiver, a dual line driver and a dual line transceiver and receives power from +3V to +5.5V supplies. The device features an enable line that controls the transmitter output to support half-duplex operation when used with other MAX3232IPWE4 devices.

The MAX3232IPWE4 is mostly used in applications such as Data Acquisition and Control, Automotive Telematics, Medical Equipment, and Bar Code Readers. It also supports ESD specifications of 20kV (HBM) and >25kV (CDM).
