MAX3094EESE application field and working principle
MAX3094EESE is a high-performance 6-channel RS485/RS422 transceiver for automotive applications. It is capable of driving up to 2kV differential voltage and features ±10kV ESD protection. Additionally, it contains a programmable current limiter and short-circuit protection as well as a thermal shutdown circuit. The device is powered by a wide 2.7 to 5.5V supply voltage range making it suitable for use in automotive systems, where it can be operated from the vehicle battery. The RS485/RS422 transceiver MAX3094EESE allows digital data transmission over twisted-pair cables up to 12.5Mbps. It provides six driver outputs and six receiver inputs. When an output is asserted, all other outputs and receiver inputs are set to the same bus state. This simplifies the system\'s digital interface, which gives rise to improved reliability, higher data rates and longer cable lengths.
