MAX3095CPE is a low-power, 8-channel, voltage level-shifting receiver family used to convert high-speed differential signals to lower-speed single-ended signals. It is an ideal solution for interfacing with a plethora of high-speed differential transmission signals, including low voltage differential signaling (LVDS) and current mode logic (CML). MAX3095CPE features a design that eliminates the need for matching logic thresholds, simplifies board layout, and provides robust operation over a wide temperature range. It also delivers fast switching times and an extended operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.

MAX3095CPE is available in a variety of packages and also has integrated fault monitoring and is immune to ESD of up to 8 kV. Application Field

Working Principle

MAX3095CPE works by converting high-speed differential signals to a lower-speed single-ended signals. It consists of eight independent receivers. Each receiver consists of two high-speed comparator inputs, with hysteresis, as well as a high-speed output buffer. The receiver converts the differential signal from the comparator inputs to a single-ended signal at the output buffer. It is also capable of interfacing with CML signals. This circuit includes an internal bias-resistive network which serves to match the input thresholds of the comparator.

The input signal levels can be configured to one of two options, with mode 0 accepting inputs from -500mV to +400mV, and mode 1 in the range of -400mV to +500mV. The hysteresis voltage is about 50mV. The output buffer has an open-drain configuration, with a settling time of 2.5ns and a signal integrity of up to 4GHz. The output buffer is also capable of driving up to 10mA.

MAX3095CPE is protected from ESD events up to 8kV, and it also has an integrated fault monitor that alerts the user if there is an overvoltage or excessive current at the output buffer. The integrated temperature sensor also helps to protect the circuit against temperature extremes.

Overall, MAX3095CPE is a reliable, low-power, 8-channel, voltage-level-shifting receiver family with integrated fault monitoring that provides a robust interface between high-speed differential and low-speed single-ended signals.
