The MAX3097EESE+ Family of integrated circuits is a member of the Interface - Drivers, Receivers, Transceivers family. It is an advanced low power, small form-factor, single-chip PC Card transceiver for desktop and mobile environment applications. The MAX3097EESE+ has a wide range of applications, including card-to-card, PC Card-to-Host (e.g., PCMCIA or PC Card), PCI Express, and embedded systems.

The MAX3097EESE+ transmits and receives both 5V and 3V PC Card signals and provides the highest level of signal integrity and data rate performance. The device addresses a number of mobile communication interface applications, including secured mobile transactions, mobile data transactions, mobile e-commerce transactions, and mobile RFID transactions.

In addition to its wide range of applications, the MAX3097EESE+ also features low power consumption, enhanced EMCV compliance, and built-in test capability. Its reduced pin count and single supply operation further adds to its versatility. The device enables reliable signaling with low EMI levels and is compliant with the ISO/IEC 14443-A/B, 14443-A1, 14443-B1, 15693, and 18000 standards.

The MAX3097EESE+ works in three modes of operation: Card-to-Card (C2C) mode, Card-to-Host (C2H) mode, and PC Card-to-Host (PC2H) mode. In C2C mode, the signal lines and data lines of the MAX3097EESE+ are connected and can be used to establish a communication link between two cards operating in C2C mode. In C2H mode, the signal lines connect to the host system and the data lines connect to the host system, enabling a host system to communicate with cards. In PC2H mode, the MAX3097EESE+ communicates in both directions with the host system.

The MAX3097EESE+\'s built in test capability allows the user to determine signal integrity and data rate performance of the transceiver. This capability enables the user to verify that the signals comply with the EMC/V level desired, thus ensuring a secure connection between the transceiver and the host system.
