The MAX3098EBCEE is a precision, low-power, low-noise, low-distortion, high-speed line driver/receiver with integrated EMI filters for low-EMI, multipoint RS-485/RS-422 communication. It integrates a dual low-power line-driver and a dual low-noise receiver, allowing full-duplex communication over a twisted-pair medium. The device is offered in two grades, EBC (Energy Bus Compliant) or EE (Energy Efficient).The MAX3098EBCEE is designed to meet or exceed the EIA/TIA-422-B and EIA/TIA-485 standards. It is able to handle up to 10 Mbps of data rate with an extended temperature range (−40°C to +85°C). It also features a slew-rate controlled output, reducing EMI and improves network noise.The MAX3098EBCEE can be used as a bus transceiver and/or a bridge, providing isolation between two or more buses. In addition, it offers adjustable common-mode levels, output and input hysteresis for noise rejection, and a fast transient response for data integrity. It also includes a low-power shutdown mode, allowing for low power consumption when the device is not in use.The device is housed in an 8-pin SOIC package with an asymmetric pinout, which keeps the energy-efficient drivers on the same side.
