Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are tools used in electronic hardware development and testing. The MAX31865EVKIT is an evaluation board with a built-in temperature sensor. It integrates the popular MAX31865 resistor network, providing the user with the ability to quickly verify the operation of the network. The device is built around a 3-wire, stainless steel RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) with a 0.00385 Ohm/degC bridge against a 100 Ohm reference resistor.The MAX31865EVKIT allows users to quickly test and evaluate the performance of the MAX31865 analog-to-digital converter. The board includes solder jumpers, allowing users to configure the device for operation at 3-wire, 4-wire, 2-wire, and single-ended modes. In addition, additional thermistor models can be added to the device if desired.The MAX31865 EV kit has a built-in temperature sensor which is used to measure temperature in various conditions. The user can measure the accuracy and linearity errors due to temperature generated by the RTD. As the thermistor does not require an external voltage source, the cost of the system is reduced.The RTD provides a ratiometric output that gives an indication of the temperature of the measured environment. The built-in linearization circuit converts the ratiometric output into linear temperature. The conversion of RTD output can be easily done through the I2C/SPI communication protocol.The MAX31865 EV Kit is designed to operate across a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +125°C. The device also features over-temperature, over-temperature alert, and under-temperature alerts, providing an extra layer of safety to the system.The EV Kit also features a graphic LCD screen which displays data such as temperature, resistance, slope, and linearity errors. It can also be used to configure the device for different operation modes, select thermistor models, and perform system calibration.The MAX31865 EV Kit is an ideal tool for laboratories, schools, and research groups working on RTD technology and it can be used to verify the operation and performance of various thermistor applications.
