MAX3232EEWE+ is an advanced International Standardized, high-speed, low-power, and low-voltage transceiver. It is a multi-channel receiver, driver and transceiver which complies with the EIA/TIA-232E and V2.0 standard. This advanced transceiver features integrated drivers and receivers that eliminate the need for external voltage converters. In transmit mode, the device typically transmits data at about 8-12 V (or higher), and in receive mode, the device requires about 4-5 V (or higher). The device can also be used in other applications, such as telecommunications or network switching, where high-speed and low-power data transfer is required.The MAX3232EEWE+ features an on-chip charge pump, providing charge to the device in order to enable the transceiver to operate at high speeds. The device can operate on a single 3.0V to 5.5V supply. It uses a low-power (18mA) operating current and a standby current of only 1uA.The device uses dual charge pumps to provide supply voltages. The first charge pump converts which converts the signal voltage level from +3.3V to +9V, and the second charge pump converts the signal voltage level from -3.3V to -9V.The device can be controlled by a SYNC (sync signal) signal, which determines the start and end of the data transfer.
