The MAX3238EAI+ is a high-speed, low-power 3.0 V to 5.5 V RS-232 transceiver. This device is designed for RS-232 communications and features 6-V to 30-V fault-protected inputs and low standby-currents.
The MAX3238EAI+ has two channels of drivers and receivers, with each channel providing ESD protection that exceeds 25 kV. Each channel of this device includes a driver, receiver, and a receiver input clamp diode. The driver enables the transmitter to run from a single supply and operates from 3 V to 5.5 V, providing 5 mA of peak output current when the supply voltage (VCC) is 5.5 V and maximum receiver input levels of 15V.
