Working Principle
The MAX3317CUP+ is a configurable USB transceiver, meaning that it can be used in either a host or a device mode, depending on the application. When used as a host transceiver, the MAX3317CUP+ acts as an interface between a USB host controller and an external USB device. When used as a device transceiver, the MAX3317CUP+ acts as an interface between an external USB host and a USB device.When used as either a host or a device, the MAX3317CUP+ receives and transmits data over a single USB bus. This data is then transmitted and received via two separate ports which, when combined, creates a full-duplex device. Since both ports are bi-directional, the MAX3317CUP+ can be used to transmit and receive data in both directions. The data transmitted and received by the MAX3317CUP+ is digitized and then encoded using pulse width modulation (PWM). The encoded data is then transmitted to the MAX3317CUP+ via an I2C interface or through the on-chip transmit and receive pins. Finally, the encoded data is decoded back into the digital form and then transmitted over the USB bus.Conclusion
