The MAX3345EEUE+ is an interface - drivers, receivers, transceivers device designed to provide USB interface protection. It is designed to provide line side galvanic isolation and transient protection solutions, as well as enabling high performance and full work cycle managing power delivery. It provides improved RF electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) performance, reducing the need to implement complex shielding in applications. In addition, it offers several design options to enable H2L and full duplex communication for fast data transfer.
The MAX3345EEUE+ is a bi-directional line side ESD diode that can protect from transients from line sources such as direct lightning, static discharges, and DC offsets. It provides high ESD protection, with a high peak pulse current capability up to 10kA, and an industry leading peak bus clamping voltage of 2.5V. It has a series resistance limited to less than 1.5Ω and a low forward diode and back diode forward voltage drop, ensuring minimal power delivery while ensuring a high level of ESD protection. In addition, the MAX3345EEUE+ provides enhanced ESD protection in noisy power environments with its active transient suppressor mode, eliminating the need for additional external ESD clamping components.
The MAX3345EEUE+ provides a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, and is designed to provide increased reliability and robustness in harsh environments. It is designed using high resistance capacitor technology to eliminate component failure potential associated with discrete capacitors. It also provides high surge immunity, with an adjustable voltage threshold that can be optimized for various applications.
The device operates in a low power mode, consuming 1.5µA at 3.3V and decreasing to 0.7µA at 1.4V. It provides improved application flexibility, with the ability to drive a load up to 8mA and the output regulation limited to ±2%. The MAX3345EEUE+ also features a hot plug protection structure that ensures no current flows through the USB connector while the hot plug is in progress, thereby protecting the device from damage.
The MAX3345EEUE+ provides a Fail-Safe mode, allowing communication to be maintained even in the event of loss of power, or protection switching failures. The device offers a fast settling time of less than 10µs, allowing for fast and reliable data transfer.
