The MAX3384ECWN is an integrated interface-drivers, receivers and transceivers device designed to provide full-duplex data interface between a system’s main printed circuit board and a discrete external cable for applications such as RS-232 and RS-422/485 interfaces. The MAX3384ECWN is designed for correct operation in environments with ±7V common-mode source voltage. It is suitable for both low-voltage and standard 3.3 V and 5V logic inputs and supplies.

The MAX3384ECWN includes four fast RS-485/422 transceivers with ±7V common-mode range, four programmable transmit/receive Enable controls, and one direction control/status line, which enables the use of one interface IC for multiple functions. The device is also protected against severe operating conditions by the twin-supply, ESD/ESP, 1-9V linear ESD protection, and thermal shutdown systems.
