The MAX5026EUT+T is a step-up DC-DC converter, which takes an input voltage and steps it up to a higher voltage. The output voltage can be set to any value within its range by adjusting the output set resistor.The MAX5026EUT+T uses a single switch to convert the low input voltage to a higher output voltage in a process known as "pulse width modulation".When the switch is in the "on" state, current from the input source is allowed to flow through the inductor and up the output capacitor. During this period the inductor stores energy from the source, which is then transferred to the output capacitor when the switch is "on". This process is repeated many times per second allowing the energy to be effectively stored in the output capacitor and providing a much higher output voltage than was initially present at the output of the DC-DC converter.The output voltage is monitored and regulated by the integrated error amplifier, which compares the output voltage to the input voltage. When the output voltage drops too low, the error amplifier adjusts the PWM duty cycle to ensure it remains within specified limits. The MAX5026EUT+T also provides a number of additional features to ensure that the output voltage is stable and regulated at all times.
