It offers an external SPI slave interface to allow for communication and control of multiple devices, allowing for fast manipulation of digital signals. The working principle of the MAX5484 is simple. When the control voltage is applied, it increases the resistance of the internal resistor network, which can be adjusted in 256 steps. This creates a voltage difference across the two arms which is proportional to the control voltage applied.
