The MAX817LCPA+ is a cost-effective, precision, low-dropout voltage supervisor circuit that provides a low supply-current reset generation to guarantee reset of the system circuitry upon power-on and supply fault. Additionally, the supervisor includes two other independent, fixed-voltage Power-Fail Comparators to enable system shutdown upon power failure, as needed. The MAX817LCPA+ provides separate push-pull RESET and Power-Fail outputs, and it runs off a single low supply voltage and can source a minimum of 40mA current. The MAX817LCPA+ has a voltage reference setting which is determined by the voltage applied between the VREF and VCC pins. The device also has an adjustable hysteresis whose level is determined by the voltage applied between the IHYS and GND pins.

When the voltage of VCC is higher than the voltage of VREF, reset is asserted. When the voltage of VCC is lower than the voltage of VREF plus the hysteresis voltage, reset will be deasserted.
