MCP121T-300E/TT is a family of high precision, low power, single-channel digital temperature supervision products optimized for low power battery-powered and portable applications. It offers an accurate temperature supervisor solution in a small SOT-23-6 package. This device is designed to monitor temperatures of sensors, CPU cores and other devices in a system. It provides an on-chip voltage supervisor for monitoring a voltage for going above or below two thresholds, a power fail detector that drives the reset pin logic low when the Vdd drops below 1.9V and an overtemperature protection block that has an internal overtemperature protection function with hysteresis.The MCP121T-300E/TT has an operating voltage range of 2.8V to 5.5V and a wide temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. Furthermore, it provides an adjustable trip point comparator with a negative edge detection, a power failure detect at 1.9V with push/pull output, a watchdog timer with programmable timeout delay, and adjustable over-temperature detection with programmable hysteresis. The MCP121T-300E/TT also provides a reset control circuit that drives the reset pin logic low when the VDD drops below 1.9V and the watchdog timer times out or detects an over-temperature condition from the thermistor input. It also provides analog-to-digital conversion when used with an external thermistor for temperature sensing and calibration.The MCP121T-300E/TT offers a number of advantages over traditional temperature monitoring systems. Working Principle of MCP121T-300E/TT
The MCP121T-300E/TT is a family of single-channel digital temperature supervision products and it provides an on-chip voltage supervisor for monitoring a voltage for going above or below two thresholds. The voltage supervisor monitors the voltage then sets the comparator to a low voltage state if the voltage is higher than the highest threshold and sets the comparator to a high voltage state if the voltage is lower than the lowest threshold. The voltage supervisor also has a power fail detector that drives the reset pin logic low when the Vdd drops below 1.9V. Furthermore, it has an overtemperature protection block with an internal overtemperature protection function and hysteresis.
The MCP121T-300E/TT also provides an adjustable trip point comparator with a negative edge detection, a power fail detect at 1.9V with push/pull output, a watchdog timer with programmable timeout delay and adjustable over-temperature detection with programmable hysteresis.
