The MIC2951-03YM-TR is a low dropout post-regulator that generates a precise 5V output voltage. This post-regulator is able to detect the input voltage through an external voltage divider and compare it to an internal reference voltage. When the input voltage is higher than the reference voltage, an error signal will be generated and adjusted with an error amplifier to control a galvanically isolated NMOS power switch.The error amplifier will vary the gate voltage of the NMOS power switch according to the desired output voltage.
