The MIC5157BM-TR is a high performance, low quiescent current, 1.3 MHz fixed frequency, synchronous step-down, linear regulator controller. It is suitable for use in Voltage-Regulator Modules (VRMs) with applications up to 15A. The MIC5157BM-TR is designed to deliver excellent power efficiency and transient response over a wide input voltage range, with a very fast and smooth current loop control.

The MIC5157BM-TR combines a high-performance, high-precision voltage regulator and an adaptive digital compensation and control scheme. It employs a low RDS(ON) MOSFET to provide peak gain and load current limit protection, and provides short circuit protection via current limit power foldback.

The MIC5157BM-TR features a high precision voltage regulation loop with adaptive on-time for peak current control. This includes an adjustable output voltage range of 0.6V to 4.2V and an adjustable current limit of 4A (max.) with a power switch of 30V/20A. The low RDS(ON) MOSFET helps to minimize power losses, allowing for high system efficiency of up to 87%.
