Features

Working Principle
The MIC5205-3.0BM5-TR is a linear voltage regulator. It works by regulating the input supply voltage and delivering a smooth, regulated output voltage. The main component of this linear voltage regulator is a voltage regulator circuit which contains an amplifier, comparator and bandgap reference. This voltage regulator circuit has two inputs – the incoming supply voltage at the input terminal and a reference voltage it compares it to. In the MIC5205-3.0BM5-TR, this reference voltage is set to 3V. When the voltage at the input terminal is above 3V, the regulator begins regulating. It reduces the difference between the input voltage and the reference voltage by providing a path to ground. The output voltage is therefore held at 3V.
